There were so many aspects to cover in the response to the questions but I was stopped from answering in full as a one-liner was apparently expected (?!) The HR rep was looking for set replies in a multiple choice style! and she did not understand the finance profession.
That in my experience and working environments I have had to deal with a lot of conflict. Collection of personal loans arrears and having been a travel rep tends to place you in the path of a lot of conflict. I can't remember the exact response I gave in this particular interview but one such experience was working during the storms in Gran Canaria and having over 40 guests waiting for you as they had no electricity. A number of the guests were very irate and wanted moving to alternative accommodation. It was taking the time to listen, empathise and eventually explain that the entire island was with out power and that they were in fact in a very fortunate situation as they had dry accommodation where other guests were being evacuated as there rooms were under water and mud. Continual communication and information helped to keep them up to date and diffused the situation until the weather subsided and the sun came out along with the return of electricity.
