Describe a situation at a previous job which was stressful and how you handled it.

I answered something long and winding, but the truth is this: whatever situation may have been stressful at the time I was at a job, I don't dwell on it. I learn from it, and when I look back at ANY position that I have held I just see learning experiences. Less

I was a dive master and when I was asked that question I described when I had to do in water rescue into a diver back to the boat. I also described in another situation and where a customer wanted a tuna fish sandwich and we do carry tunafish I asked my general manager if I could have somebody watch my station while I went to the store. I chill Delta that I will always go above and beyond to make sure the customer is 100% satisfied Less

Tell me about a time you saw something being done in an unsafe manner. What did you do? What was the result?

Ask them why they were doing this? Then point out the proper procedure and explain why it is done that way. Perhaps that person did not know the correct way, positively reinforcing the correct procedure is the beat way to handle this first time encounter. Less

Questions are listed elsewhere. I didn't do my homework beforehand so I was answering the questions on the fly. But I was invited for the F2F after doing so. I think it's good to have concrete examples because I was struggling to remember specifics in the 30 second prep. Nonetheless, I think it's important to also convey that you're good at: 1) problem-solving 2) de-escalating tension as much as possible 3) staying calm and keeping on 4) understanding what rules can be bent and which cannot 5) explaining situations in which you have exhibited good judgment

Give an example of a time where you were in a high stress or high pressure situation. What was the situation? What actions did you take and what were the results?

you have years of experience as a manager and have no high stress / pressure situations??? An employee never showed up to work so you had to quickly come up with a backup plan? You never came close to missing business needs and needed to switch plans to bring up revenue? Sorry I've barely been a manager at Amazon for a year and a half and I have a ton of examples. Maybe it was the STAR method that didn't give you the cut. Amazon uses the same or very similar questions so it's easier for us. STAR is so important Less

6 questions (handling conflict, difficult customers, special requests, difficult colleagues). All to be answered using the STAR method.

I had an index card next to my PC with STAR in big letters. To make sure I didn't miss anything. I am awaiting response as of today (it's been a week since interview). Reading reviews here helped tremendously. Thanks, everyone! Less
