Calm them down if they are irate. Listen to what they have to say and acknowledge their grievance. Assure them that you will help and get to the bottom of wherever it is they are not happy about. Try and build a rapport with them by identifying common ground or interests. Try and resolve their issue and keep them informed through the entire process.
