junior consultant interview questions shared by candidates
2) When have you experienced a moment in your life when you realised you were not going to achieve your target?
ANSWER: This is a personal question to me, so providing an answer would not be appropriate. However, (if you're still reading at this point - I know you've probably written Uni essays shorter than this post!), what I would say is you're obviously a highly intelligent and motivated person to have gone to the effort to come onto Glassdoor and research Moorhouse, so believe in yourself on the Assessment day. Relax, don't focus on the outcome and just use the Assessment Day as if no job offer was on the table and it was just a chance you'd received to learn about an innovative and unique firm. Gather as much info as possible and use that clever brain of yours to think about your answers. Don't do (as I have done years ago) to try and wheel out answers you've copy and pasted from Careers Fairs and Google Searches. Make your answers reasoned, novel but most important keep them fun and light hearted. A great quote sums it up; "To me there are three things everyone should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two is think -- spend some time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears. If you laugh, think and cry, that's a heck of a day." It goes without saying though, try not to cry because of sadness during the day. I wish you the best of luck with your application and look forward to working alongside you if you receive an offer & accept.
I really like the previous response (it's a shame it's anonymous :-) ). We deliberately and consciously want to recruit the very best people but this doesn't mean that those who do not get recruited do not have the opportunity to work at Moorhouse. Sometime we just say that someone needs a little more time and experience where they currently are - we do not say this easily and it is part of a genuine commitment to do the right thing for people. I am really pleased that we have a couple of people in the firm who were asked to stay in touch following their Assessment Centre and six months later they are Junior Consultants in Moorhouse.
