      Product Operations Lead Interview

      14 Sept 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Houston, TX
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at lululemon (Houston, TX) in Jul 2025

      Interview

Group interview setting was the first thing they did. We sat in a circle taking turns answering each question. They want very specific and clear answers when addressing the question. We went in different orders each time so that way one person wouldn't feel on the spot answering every time. At the end they said they would let us all know if we got the job or not.

      Interview

Easily the WORST interview process I've ever been a part of... The first interview was with a recruiter via the phone and was fine but the person could not answer any of my questions and stated that I should ask my questions to the store manager during the next interview. My second interview was nearly two weeks later and in person, but instead of the store manager, I got two assistant managers. For the next hour I was asked the most mundane and convoluted questions I have ever had to answer at an interview. I answered all of their questions and never got a single follow-up question. During this whole interview, the two managers had laptops with them to write down notes and mentioned they may look away from time to time but would listen intently. They did not look up from their laptops once and did not seem interested in being there whatsoever. My third interview was a week later and actually for the same position but a different location (I applied to both at the same time) and it was a phone interview with the same exact person, who gave me the same exact questions, and could not answer my follow up questions just like the last time. My fourth, and final, interview was a few days later and a zoom call for the second location, but for some reason I had the interview with the same assistant manager from the first location and his store manager? I asked why I wasn't being interviewed by the manager at the other location and I, of course, did not get an answer. The store manager would go on to conduct this interview and I was, once again, asked the most specific interview questions you could imagine. I gave lengthy answers and never got any follow-up questions. As with the last interview, both managers were typing on their laptops the whole time and clearly seemed to not want to be there. The store manager was able to answer some of my questions at the end of the interview but was not able to answer ANY of the questions I had regarding the other store. Over a week later I would get, not one, but two emails within five minutes of each other stating that the company would not be moving forward with me. The last thing I will mention is that, like some other reviews have stated, this company seems to be looking for specific type of people. For context I'm a white guy with over 15 years of retail experience and 10 years of management experience. All of the employees I saw at the store were young, culturally diverse (not white), and not very experienced. I've read that this is one of the "best" companies to work for, and I'm sure there's some truth once you get hired, but if this is how all of their interviews go then I would steer clear of this place! My advice to the company: shorten the interview process, give your interviewers more creative freedom with the questions, and don't worry about "who" you're hiring and think about "what" you're hiring.
