I came for an interview and the lady who is the owner barely paid attention at all. Extremely unprofessional, it was clear she hadn't set up a time for the interview. She just told me to sit on a couch where other stuff was piled on and she just grabbed a chair to sit in front. During the whole process she was looking at emails instead, laughed when I mentioned a salary expectation which to be honest was on the low range for the position, would make snide remarks, etc. Awful person overall, beware.

I found this posting on Craigslist in the legal section. I applied thinking I have nothing to lose. I spoke to the lawyer, Ms. Outerbridge and agreed to come for an interview in a week. When I got to the interview, she was quick to tell me the process. She would ask some questions and then have me do a "demo", like to work for an hour and see how I handle things. I would be paid for this hour. So far it was looking great. Sadly, things took a turn for the worst. She spent half the interview on her phone with a client. She just went down the list of my job. By the way, the listing on Craigslist was incomplete. The listing she showed me added many more responsibilities such as managing the social media website and doing administrative things. The only thing mentioned on the job description was client intake and drafting legal documents. This still wasn't bad. Then, she mentioned that there was no health insurance. The salary was "only up to 45k" but she tried to tell me that the salary would make up for the lack of benefits. After the "interview" finished, we went to go do the demo. She tried to show me some of client greeting and intake procedures in the office. She then got visibly annoyed when I tried it for myself the first time saying "this is taking too long". I'm not sure what she expected since I literally just tried to do what she demonstrated for the first time. The "demo" then took 20 minutes to start because she had to go to her office to "get something". I could hear her on the phone and knew she must be talking to clients. I finished the demo but told her the job wasn't for me. Its unprofessional that the job description, salary and lack of benefits were not disclosed at the initial phone screening. It's even more unprofessional that Ms. Outerbridge spent much of the interview on the phone. If she can't take time to even interview me, then I don't see how she would make time to train me.
