Other then labour work on construction sites none. I have transferable skills from several other jobs not related to construction and I'd like to think of myself as a blank canvass with an open and willing mind to learn and gain experience.
Told them how international the company was and what projects they had recently won. I also told them I wanted to be part of this company and work in the variety of industries. Also explained that they were a diverse company. The interviewer was self-absorbed and explained to me that they were a diverse company who employed, in his own words: 'a Chinese guy, polish guy and a lot of welsh people' P.S. Was rejected on the grounds of inexperience even though the recruiter advised that this was not a problem as the company was looking for a fresh starter. Revised for a competency based interview but was shown out after 15 mins. No competency questions asked. In hindsight if I was told that my experience was a problem and a rejection over the phone would have saved my time off from work and a hotel stay in Warrington. Amateur company.
The building had no formal entrance and there was no way of entering the building so I could not inform the interviewer of my arrival. I had not been given any contact details. Contacted HR to advise my situation but was no help. Was then let in by an employee and was made to wait in the kitchen area. The interviewer arrived with a colleague who both introduced themselves. He explained that this was an informal interview and took no ID or asked for any documents even upon my insistence. They basically were interviewing me without seeing any documents or verifying who I was. Explained my background, academic skills and hobbies.
