The classic problem with the 3litre and 5litre water jugs. How to measure 4 litres if you only have a 3lt and a 5lt water jug and unlimited water supply?2 AnswersFill up 5 litre jug and pour into 3 litre jug until full without spilling so that you have 2 litres in the 5 litre jug. Empty 3 litre jug and pour the 2 litres from the 5 litre jug into the 3 litre jug so that the 3 litre jug has 2 litres. Fill 5 litre jug again and pour into 3 litre jug without spilling. Now there is 4 litres of water in the 5 litre jug.Fill the 3 litre then pour into the five litre. Now refill the 3 litre jug and pour into the 5 litre until it is full. Now you are left with a full 5 litre jug, and 1 litre in the 3 litre jug. Now empty the the 5 litre jug, and then fill it with the 1 litre of liquid from the 3 litre jug, now we are left with a 5 litre jug with 1 litre of water inside. The remainder is now 4 litres.

Given two bowling balls and one weighs X kg, they are the same density, if this bowling ball is 10 inches diameter and the other is 16 inches diameter, how much does it weight?2 AnswersVolume of a sphere: 3/4πr^3. Since the density is equal, the weight increase is proportional to the volume increase. The radius increases from 5 to 8 and hence the weight is equal to (8^3-5^3)X = 387X.The weight is X * (8/5)^3 = 4.096 X (kg)
