    BBC Studios Drama Productions is renowned for bringing audiences together week after week. We are the creative powerhouse behind award-winning Drama such as EastEnders, Silent Witness, Father Brown and Sister Boniface to Casualty, River City, Pobol y Cwm and Anfamol. In addition to our iconic brands, we have an ambitious growth strategy with a slate of fresh and exciting new shows in development.

    Here, we champion an inclusive culture aligned with our Pledge, fostering an environment where you can freely unleash your creativity, in the pursuit of bold content. Collaborating with some of the industry’s brightest talents, you’ll have the chance to leave your imprint on millions of viewers worldwide. What’s more? There’s plenty of opportunities for growing your career with us too, nurturing and developing talent is ingrained in our DNA – we’d love for you to be part of it.

    EastEnders is the multi award winning soap broadcast four times a week on BBC ONE. It currently ranks as one of the most watched TV dramas in the UK tackling many controversial and taboo issues previously unseen on television in the UK. Through great writing and attention to detail the show manages to successfully balance gritty realism with high drama and entertainment to keep its millions of dedicated viewers coming back for more, on-screen and on-line, every week.

    You’ll report to the Digital Producer.

    This role is key to helping our content be the most impactful, creative and innovative it can be on social media, candidates will be required to shoot and edit video content for our social media, ensuring we make the correct impact with young audiences, with video output largely revolving around short form and ultra-short-form mediums.

    You’ll need to live and breathe social media so knowing your memes and online references is just as important as knowing your way around the Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop and Premier are key tools).

    You will be required to pitch your own ideas around stories and successfully tap into what our audience wants to consume, so a keen interest in Drama, especially EastEnders is beneficial.

    The successful candidate will need to be able to work quickly and under pressure, often moving from idea generation to final design in the space of an hour or two, with a requirement on occasion to work within a team on the larger digital commissions, such as Albert Squared.

    Working in social media means our Assistant Producer is constantly treading a fine line between informing and entertaining, so being required to recognise when to do both, while always maintaining our high editorial standards is essential for this role.

    Are you the right candidate?

    To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following;

    • Experience of shooting and editing video content for social media
    • Proven knowledge of using Adobe Creative Suite, Sony A6600 & Canon 5D
    • An excellent knowledge of social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok
