    Description:

    Position Overview:

    Johnson Fitness and Wellness (JFW), the largest specialty fitness retailer in the US, is looking for a creative and strategic marketing professional that is motivated to propel our retail brand forward in new and inspiring ways for our customers.

    Centered in JFW’s marketing department, the Brand Marketing Manager will drive business and customer growth through relevant storytelling and strategic implementation of marketing programs. The successful candidate will be comfortable building teams and programs from the ground up, with a strong background in project management and proven marketing leadership. This role will have a major impact on how JFW goes to market as an inspirational fitness and wellness brand.


    Responsibilities:

    Core Job Functions:

    In partnership with the Sr. Director of Marketing, build strategic and tactical marketing plans that create a unique brand position for Johnson Fitness & Wellness in the fitness and wellness marketplace. Activities may include:

    • Creating public relations opportunities to influence the fitness and wellness market and grow demand.
    • Developing and managing JFW content and social marketing strategy for promotional events, product launches, ongoing customer engagement and sales campaigns.
    • Working with media teams to identify optimal channels to promote the JFW brand and offerings to our target customers.
    • Partnering with store management team to elevate the brand experience within the store environment Partnering with ecommerce team to ensure the JFW brand is brought to life within the website environment.
    • Building out seasonal campaigns and supporting product launches with content activation.
    • Executing customer and market research and analysis to ensure JFW stays relevant and inspirational to our customers.
    • Create, maintain, and communicate brand standards for Johnson Fitness & Wellness Retail and Commercial brands across marketing channels.
    • Identify various team roles required, and lead team of internal content and design professionals, as well as outside agencies.
    • Be a brand champion internally via clear communications and updates to cross-department teams and stakeholders.
    • Partner with outside vendors such as agencies, photographers, videographers, content platforms.
    • Ensure product brands are represented and elevated appropriately on JFW properties based on business priorities and customer opportunities.
    • Identify and manage costs associated with brand development.
    • Build KPIs to support JFW key marketing and brand goals. Measure brand awareness and impact in store markets.

    Managerial Job Functions:

    • This role requires relationship management with multiple agencies and vendor partners.
    • Role may be responsible for supervising and mentoring other marketing staff, in which case, the following job duties will be required:
    • Responsible for staffing, terminations, disciplinary actions, training, and developing subordinates
    • Responsible for completing adequate performance documentation on time.
    • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of timecards and approving them in a timely manner.
    Requirements:

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Advertising or relevant field, or equivalent experience is required.

    Experience:

    Minimum of seven to nine years of cross-functional / multi-channel marketing experience, preferably in a retail environment

    Previous experience managing teams and agency partnerships.

    Other Requirements:

    • Experience building marketing programs and campaigns from the ground up.
    • Strong project management skills to implement programs and report results and recommendations.
    • Experience building cross-channel communication plans and analyzing results to determine success of efforts.
    • Interest in fitness and wellness industries a plus (but not necessary)
    • Strong writing, verbal and presentation skills required.
    • Experience partnering across marketing, media, store, and creative operations disciplines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
