Digitalbox, one of the UK's leading mobile-first publishers, is looking for a bright and ambitious Editorial Assistant to work across its entertainment and satire websites, including Entertainment Daily and Daily Mash.The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things TV & Showbiz, with demonstrable skills & experience in graphics & social media production - and a great sense of humour!
Key responsibilities
- Market the brands' content across multiple platforms from Social Media to Email & WhatsApp
- Ideate & design social media posts across a range of platforms including Facebook, Instagram & Twitter
- Create, edit and enhance images to help illustrate articles
- Create other graphic work required by the brands
- Engage with social audiences, encouraging engagement and responding to direct messages
- Monitor 'scraper' sites and manage the 'disavow' process
Required skills
- Excellent command of written English including spelling, grammar & punctuation
- Graphic design; logo and type design - using tools such as Canva, Pixlr & PhotoShop
- Strong understanding of publishing on social media, following guidelines and keeping abreast of developments
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to tight deadlines
Desirable skills
- Editorially and socially-driven video editing using software such as Final Cut Pro, Wibbitz & CapCut
- Email newsletter compliation and distribution using MailChimp
- Good knowledge of YouTube: posting; optimisation; monetisation
- Analytics & reporting - using tools such as Facebook Insights & Emplifi to monitor traffic & engagement, and inform content decisions
This is a full-time remote role, although you will be required to attend meetings from time to time. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday 9 - 5.30pm however, given the nature of the business, some flexibility is required.
