I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (More than 3 years)
They’ll hire you if you have a clean driving record. You will have a job for as long as you want one.
If you’re lucky, you’ll have a competent co worker you can enjoy spending your entire day sunrise to sunset with.
Quite a bit. Management, from the top, is horrendous. Can’t talk to anyone, and if you do, you’re intimidated and told you’ll be fired if you do it again.
Long shifts - nothing less than 10 hours. On your feet for 90% of that, 100% if you aren’t given a community chair to share with your coworkers.
Weekends are mandatory - every weekend, despite what they tell you. I was fooled by this for 3 years.
Absolutely no pay raises - received one 50 cent raise in 3 years - when asked about more, was told to “sell more coverage” and you’ll get better commissions.
Customers - when they’re not being unreasonable or screaming about the high rate, they are screaming about the hour long wait for a car to be delivered because the shuttle drivers take forever to get to your location with a car - despite their reservation time being confirmed.
Advice to Management
Listen to your employees.
Get away from your excel spreadsheets and go visit your locations.
Go spend a day at your locations and see what your front line employees have to deal with because your company doesn’t care for their customers.
