I worked at BAT (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Global well known company with the strong pool of talent and great place to get experience and enjoy many different roles and projects. Glad that had a chance to work at BAT for 7/5 years

    Cons

Challenging working environment with close cooperation with State Authorities (tax, customs, certification, etc) requires maximum of your efforts and time. Vast geographical spread of activities in Kazakhstan with a daily control of transport and warehousing activities of both Employer and Distributor staff.

    Advice to Management

Kazakhstan is a highly competitive market with lots of opportunities for young as well as epxerienced local staff that can contribute a lot to business development.

    Horeca Manager Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at BAT (Almaty (Kazakhstan)) in September 2010.

    Interview

First went through a comprehensive assessment center with tests and screening interviews. Then had an interview with the HR director. Then with the future line manager who suggested I applied to this position rather than an Area Manager one. Complex but fair hiring process.

    Negotiation

Not too long: I needed the job so I took their offer.
