I have been working at Barchester Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)
You can always get overtime and build your contracted hours around raising children.
All branches are highly understaffed. Residents for hoisting are to be handled by 2 carers, it doesn't happen a lot. You are left on your own, and are expected to do all the work as if you had someone to help you, which is a criminal offence and you can injure the resident. I have been to hospital several times due to a back injury at work, but nobody seems to care. They pay minimum wage and the head office does not allow the manager to pay you extra if you worked short staffed. The company is a disgrace.
Advice to Management
Hire more staff to avoid accidents and injuries.
