I have been working at Barclays as an intern
Everyone's very friendly and helpful. Senior management will always make time for you and give you good advice
You can sometimes feel like a small fish in a very large pond
The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Barclays (London, England).
Online application. Phone call screening from HR. Passed to next stage. This was a panel interview with two Directors. HR agreed the interview date. A few days later told me there was also a case study which would be sent 30 mins before Interview.
On Interview day no case study came. I chased HR who didn't know what was happening. Then it came 15 mins later. I completed the case study in 15 mins. I dial in. The interview didn't start at the agreed time. 10 mins later I email HR. No response. Then one interviewer dials in. Tells me the other - the hiring manager - has a personal issue and won't attend. He runs through the case study with me and Interview and seems a decent chap. He tells me the hiring manager will interview me and to await an invite. A week and half later no invite.
I contact HR who basically say it's nothing to do with them and I should contact the interviewer for feedback.
Nothing to do with HR Recruitment. Okaaay.
I hunt for interviewer's email and he says the hiring director will contact me. Nothing happens for 3 weeks. No contact. No update.
Rather surprised and disappointed this is Barclays. I worked hard prepping for the opportunity. It's a shame HR recruitment don't have the courtesy to understand this and repay with professionalism.
I take this as a blessing. Maybe the rumours of Barclays and employee dissatisfaction are true.
Glassdoor wants to know Interview outcome. I don't know. 5 weeks later someone has still to get back to me.
