    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at EFI (Pittsburgh, PA (US)) in February 2018.

    Interview

I interviewed for a human resources position at the Pittsburgh office of EFI. I was pretty shocked that the gentleman interviewing me seemed very green and inexperienced. For example, he wasn't familiar with the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association or Society for Human Resources Management. Not a good look for EFI for its HR professionals to not be on top of major professional organizations! Worst of all, though, the interviewer asked me if I have children, and asked about my marital status. Any supervisor should know that those kinds of questions are off limits due to the potential discrimination landmine, but it's simply unconscionable for an HR professional to be asking those kinds of questions. Shame on EFI for putting this inexperienced interviewer in front of candidates and putting his company at risk.
