I have been working at Genesys full-time (More than 8 years)
I have worked for Genesys for 8+ years and I love it. That is not to say that it is perfect. No company is. Genesys is a company where you can build a career and it's relatively easy to change roles. People are Genesys' greatest asset. Genesys has an awesome culture -- management genuinely care about their employees and job satisfaction, employees seek to do the best for the company and customers. Great teams and team work.
It's very hard to get promoted into senior leadership. With its current growth trajectory, nepotism is rampant -- job openings if they are even posted at all are often pre-selected by senior leadership or influential leaders for people they know. There are lots of empire builders in executive management. Executive leadership do not prioritize.
Advice to Management
Give current employees opportunities to grow and develop. There is a lot of untapped talent. Learn to prioritize and focus to execute on strategic initiatives.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Genesys (Daly City, CA (US)) in September 2015.
I applied through corporate web-site then found recruiter for this position in LinkedIn and sent him cover letter. We schedule a phone interview where discussed the position as well as my background. In a week, on-site interview was scheduled. I had a meeting with hiring manager and program manager. During two hours we had a nice discussion covering the project, company. The questions were mostly about my previous work experience, how I handle difficult situations, what kind of personality I am. They shared some high-business details about the project and asked me to share my vision on its development. How would I enhance/change processes. What additional tools can be introduce to make the execution more effective and efficient. And so on. It was a great experience.
