I have been working at Merlin Entertainments full-time (More than a year)
You get to work with some incredible attractions and intellectual property.
It's never boring.
The business has a great sense of corporate responsibility, both in terms of environmental and social issues.
My team and stakeholders are very friendly.
The Magic Pass (free tickets to all attractions) makes you very popular overnight.
The LEGO discount is a game-changer at Christmas.
The Poole office, overlooking the harbour, is the nicest office I've worked in (with a slide connecting both floors - seriously).
You get to work with a lot of interesting people doing a lot of interesting things from all over the world, and you really get a feeling you're a part of an international team.
There can be some long days - mainly when you have to cover a variety of different time-zones, or hit a tight deadline, but they are flexible with this.
The office can at times be eerily quiet (not always a con if you're getting on with work).
Advice to Management
We receive 'The Wizard' updates by email, but the odd video update wouldn't hurt. Otherwise, keep doing what you're doing.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Merlin Entertainments (Poole, England) in July 2019.
I had a two stage interview process, the first consisting of competency based questions at the office, finishing with a small test. The second interview consisted of a presentation which they kindly allowed me to do over zoom in the evening as I couldnt get time off work.
