    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tableau Software (Paris (France)) in November 2019.

    Interview

First interview with HR went well. They were very eager to give me all the relevant information about the role and to understand well my past experience.

The interview with the hiring manager was a bizzare experience. He did not seem interested in learning about my profile, but rather the company I worked for (a competitor). Every time I would try to put my experience forward he would interrupt me and ask about my current employer and their product. He was ok with my potential start date in the beginning of the interview and at the end he was not anymore. I tried to ask a few questions about the role when I was invited to do so, but he seemed exasperated that I had questions and tried to cut it short. At the end of the interview, he mentioned that we would have a panel demo next and that he would try to request HR to help arrange for my travel to Paris (I was going to relocate there). He gave me all the details and said someone from his team would be in touch soon for a coaching discussion for the panel demo. Five days later, I received a vague email from the recruiter saying that they would not move forward with me. I tried to ask for details via email and to call the recruiter but I never got an answer. 5 months later, the position is still advertised on LinkedIn and their career site.
