I have been working at Tripadvisor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Fantastic Team: Truly rare to find a sales environment that does not cultivate or encourage brash /arrogant behavior.
-Competitive Perks: Healthcare, Dental, Paid Lunch, etc
-Leadership/Management: Highly skilled leaders with a passion for the job and a desire to genuinely listen, interact and assist. (Inspiring and down to-earth director of sales)

    Cons

-Progression: Whilst their is examples of sales reps moving to new roles/divisions, the opportunity within Dublin can feel limited.
-Global v Dublin Office: The Dublin is primary a sales organisation and it is easy to feel isolated from the rest of the company.
-Change: Change is commonplace within any successful company, I do feel that management can ensure a smoother transition and improve communications concerning changes in comp plans, teams, products etc.
-No opportunity to work from home

    Advice to Management

Autonomy: The level of autonomy offered to sales reps varies (Team/manager dependent)and has been constantly evolving as the office has grown in size. Whilst I understand a general structure relating to KPI and workflows is needed, I feel that any sales organisation that wants to differentiate from others and truly disrupt the market, should always ensure that reps have the autonomy to approach work in various ways/styles.
I would also recommend that management re-visits their communication with reps regarding KPIs. (Genuinely hardworking reps should not have weekly pressure about the number of dials and opportunities created, rather tailor the KPIs to each of the reps and allow for flexibility that accounts for various markets, selling styles, target audience)
Finally, please retain your open door policy and brilliant work relating to office culture!

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Tripadvisor (Dublin, Co. Dublin (Ireland)) in September 2020.

    Interview

Got a Codility test invite from TripAdvisor, which consisted of 4 questions with 48h time to solve them. After the test, there was a screening interview by a recruiter where she said we're moving forward to the next round and asked me about my profile and interests. The recruiter said that I would have the next round shortly and the hiring manager will contact me soon regarding it. After a few days, I received an auto-generated email from HR stating that I have been rejected. Upon following up with the recruiter about this, she claimed that the email was sent by mistake and they're still working on setting up the interview. After a few days again when asking for updates, the recruiter said I have been rejected due to some other reasons. The entire interview process looked like a joke and was a complete waste of time.

    Interview Questions

    • 3 coding and 1 debug question.
      The coding questions were:
      1) Find the biggest single-digit number that occurs in an array

2)Given a binary string, perform the operations:
a)Reduce by 1 if the number is odd.
          b) divide by 2 if even.
Continue this until the number is 0 and return the number of operations.

      3)The battleship problem   1 Answer
