    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Turtle Bay (Bath, England) in September 2018.

    Interview

I applied for the job of a part time cocktail bartender. The manager asked me some pretty usual interview questions, and then told me to wait for an hour, and the member of staff that runs the bar would be in to give me a trial on the bar. When the member of staff finally arrived he explained where everything was and begun to teach me how to make some simple cocktails. This was the first slightly odd moment, the cocktails where obviously wrong, look up the recipe for the mojito, Turtle Bay does not put in any limes, only lime juice, and adds clove extract, all wrong. After about half an hour, the manager asked me whether I wanted the job, I said yes and he said, brilliant I could start now. I then did a 4 hour shift that I was told I would be paid for, and signed the signup forms. I had already told the manager I would be away for a week, but could start the week after, they said they would call me. When I returned no one called me, so I called them, multiple times, until I got a manager who said they hadn't heard from me, and so had given the job to someone else. Hideously unprofessional company. The manager seems to sit around all day on her phone, and is downright rude to her staff. The member of staff I was working with told me he had to be transferred from another branch to cover because everyone in the branch had left within a month because the manager was so terrible. I cannot warn people enough of this place, truly horrible management, and actually pretty terrible drinks too. They should count themselves lucky I didn't report them for minimum wage violations, I was never paid for the shift I did.
