Application
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at About You in March 2019.
Interview
Having initially applied for a specific Product Manager position, I was contacted for a different position that also suited my skills. I was in contact with HR who arranged an initial interview over Skype. The pair that interviewed me were very friendly and put forward a good but challenging view of life at ABOUTYOU. This interview consisted mainly of general questions around my background and explaining more about the particular role and their positions within that team.
I was invited back for a second interview with the same people where we went more in-depth as to particular skills and aspects related to the job, as well as how I would go about implementing certain features or handling certain situations/scenarios.
Following this interview, I was put forward for a phone interview with the CTO which was quite brief and consisted of going over again my skills and experience to date.
Unfortunately, I wasn't offered the role of Product Manager in this particular situation. However, even more unfortunate, I wasn't given any feedback as to the reasoning behind this decision which would have been quite beneficial for my continued job search and I think is to be expected considering how much time I also invested in three interviews for the particular role.
Apart from this, I found the recruitment experience with ABOUTYOU to be very pleasant and the people I spoke to painted a very positive and realistic picture of the job/company.
