    There are a lot of opportunities to develop yourself, to seize initiatives and responsibilities. The autonomy and independance is very present, allowing you to really matter in the development of your team/project/office.

    If you are expecting things to come on a silver platter it's not the place for you. As the company grew quickly, there are several aspects improving and being developed. Understanding the context and getting involved in the solution definitely has a positive impact.

    Junior Business Unit Manager Interview

    Anonymous Employee in London, England
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amaris (London, England) in September 2019.

    4 phases total:
    1 phone call with HR manager - 30 minutes;
    1 Skype interview with Senior Manager of the team - 1 hour;
    1 Skype interview with Director and chief of the department of the team - 1 hour;
    1 Skype interview with other team members more close to you if you get the job - 1 hour- 1hour and a half.

    During the initial interviews it's explained to you what you are actually going to do in the role and its very commercial (cold calls, interviewing recruiters, organizing and negotiating prices). They also let you know from the beginning that is a low professional-personal life balance role and that most of the time you work around 12 hours.

    The more advanced interviews are still focused on your soft skills and communication, and there is no technical test or any type of challenge on top of the interviews (not even business cases during the interview - common for consulting firms).

    In the end, they explained to me that its a bit like 50% of the day you do HR work and the other 50% more like call center work.
    This is not ideal for anyone who wants to follow a Project Management path or wants any life balance and in the end, I refused the offer.

    But if you don't mind working long hours in the first 1-2 years, you have great communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills you will definitely like this role!
