Mission: To serve patients.
I worked at Amgen full-time (More than 3 years)
Great colleagues, good benefits, lots of autonomy, chances to travel
In recent years I feel that the scientific mission of Amgen has given way to a “follow the money” attitude. The company is now definitely being run by the money men and the old motto of “science first” seems to be forgotten
Advice to Management
Remember your roots; and remember that your people are your best asset - not a “resource” to be cut
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Amgen (Cambridge, East of England, England) in February 2017.
I applied through an agency, and had an initial screening call with HR,, followed by call from the hiring manager. It was a brief and friendly call. Then finally a face-to-face on-site interview, with three people, followed immediately by a HR call interview. The panelists were nice, and a bit on the edge so I did feel that there might be a bit of stress and tension within the group.

Colleagues from Amgen Switzerland participated this past May in a 500 km 4-day charity bike ride from London to Paris to raise money for a Myeloma patient organization. Way to go Amgen Switzerland! Learn more about how Amgen gives back. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQLDR
