    Claims Handler - Norwich Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Norwich, England
    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aviva (Norwich, England) in April 2018.

I was told the interview process would take roughly two and a half hours. In reality it lasted about two so was slightly quicker than expected. I was instructed to take along my passport and proof of address for background checks. The email stated bank statement from the past three months however on the day they accepted my driving license.

After waiting in reception for a few minutes with another interviewee we were told that we would be collected individually and explained to that the interview would consist of three parts:

    1) Sitting in on calls with a Claims Handler so you get an idea of what the role consists of and requires. We were encouraged to ask as many questions as possible and to learn as much as possible. The handler was very friendly and willing to explain anything I asked. This lasted between 45 minutes to an hour.

    2) Interview with two claims managers. This stage wasn't too daunting at all. Both of my interviewers were very friendly and chatty. They were not forceful at all and genuinely seemed like they wanted me to do well. We chatted briefly about my CV and where my experience applied to the Claims Handler position. They then followed a set list of competency questions, one asked them and the other simply filled in my answers. This lasted another 30-45 minutes.

    3) You are then given an example of a complaint. In this scenario a customer had not received delivery of a product and had had no communication regarding it's whereabouts. The task was simply to respond to the complaint as you saw fit in the format of a formal letter. I was given about 10 minutes alone in the interview room. The interviewers then came back in and ran through general job specs such as salary and hours etc.

I was then told that they would be in touch in due course so awaiting response. On the way out I collected my passport and driving license from reception.
