Of the 3.9 million babies born in the U.S. in 2016, almost 10% were premature—less than 37 weeks of gestation—requiring advanced care and monitoring in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) setting. Their underdeveloped lungs, skin, digestive and immune systems make them one of our most vulnerable patient populations.
Earlier this month, a team of cross-legacy (BD, Bard, CareFusion) BD associates attended the ISO 20695 Enteral Meeting, in Paris, France, to drive policy and influence standards-of-care practices particularly for patients in intensive care units (ICUs) and NICUs around the world. For these patients, even the slightest variation in delivered medication can have catastrophic consequences.
The meeting brought together representatives from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and members of key clinical institutions from Europe and the U.S., and focused on enteral feeding systems, that is the delivery of nutrition, medication and hydration directly into a patient’s stomach or small intestine.
BD and WeRobotics advance drone delivery capabilities in the Peruvian Amazon
BD and the international nonprofit WeRobotics recently completed a two-week study in the Peruvian Amazon testing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, commonly known as “drones”) for expanding healthcare access. The study was conducted to evaluate the use of UAVs to transport supplies and patient samples in areas with poor transportation infrastructure, a significant challenge in many countries.
In Peru specifically, weak transportation infrastructure frequently delays the transport of blood samples, causing sample degradation and making samples invalid for testing. Furthermore, barriers to personal travel and low personal incomes make access to testing locations a challenge for initial and follow-up testing.

I have been working at BD full-time (Less than a year)
Great ethos towards work - getting it right is the priority, not the speed to market. Work life balance is excellent and the work is interesting and philanthropic.
The management are keen to listen.
The office is studious and quiet. That said the staff are all friendly and I have never heard a raised voice. Process is paramount so if you like to fly free then this is not the place for you. I love it which is not really a con....
Advice to Management
Continue with the ethics and work life balance. The strength of the company is within the quality of the product. Ensure the staff have continued support from management to deliver the best and strive to improve.
I applied online. I interviewed at BD.
Phone call with in house recruiter, phone call with Hiring Manager then Face to Face with Hiring Manager and Regional Manager. Numerical and Verbal reasoning tests before the face to face.
