Advice to Management
I'm a current employee and I enjoy it very much! BSI employs some of the best people I have encountered in an office this size, ever. After being hired that is one thing that stuck out to me most, and that has been a constant. I'd like to think of them all as an extension of my family. The department I work in allows me to learn something new almost every day and when I come across something difficult the department lead is always there to help. In short, I have never had a bad day that my colleagues have been the culprit. The office is very diverse and I admire that, too.
Leadership (Executives) are very much approachable and are there to listen when you have concerns. There are not many companies where you will work, and the President knows your name and will casually engage in a conversation with you. All are very much approachable. The pay is not great depending on your position, however, I feel the benefits offers a counterbalance.
As with most companies, there's summer BBQ and a Christmas party. Throughout the year your birthday is celebrated and there are other various activities that encourage company cohesiveness and office morale.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at BSI America.
An external recruiter found me on LinkedIn and reached out to me. The interviews were a month after the initial interaction. The first two sets were phone based with coworkers in US and UK. The in-person interviews were with Senior Management folks in the Herndon, Virginia office.
The interviews range in order of difficulty. By the time you get the first phone call, you have a fairly good chance at getting the job for the Product Expert role. Most of the interview time is spent on the interviewers explaining the job. Know your technical details, BSI will teach you the Medical Device directives. Ensure that you portray confidence throughout the interview. Behavioral aspects were not really ascertained through direct questions but it is expected that the person hired has excellent people skills.
