I have been working at Bank of the Ozarks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Managers and Staff are given a high degree of autonomy to sink or swim with their programs.
Resources are being deployed, and new Programs are being built across the Bank to improve in areas that need it.
    Great work life balance.
A focus on performance rather than talk - so the dead weight doesn't stay too long.

    Cons

Not a lot of feed back in the form of detailed Performance Reviews, mostly informal - so you don't know exactly how secure your job is.
Short Term Incentives (Cash Bonus) are not given for the work already done.
Long Term Incentives (Stock Options) for the work already done have a 3 Year vesting period.
Certain people are in roles that they aren't really qualified or suited for.

    Advice to Management

Align your compensation plans with peer institutions.
Steer clear of creating too much internal red tape.

    Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Bank of the Ozarks.

    Interview

First round was phone interview, very straightforward.

Second round was at the office in Dallas with about 8 of their asset managers. They're really looking to see if you fit the culture at their office, which is hard-working, organzied, and able to work in a structured system.

    Interview Questions

    • How do you organize your work?

How well are you able to follow directions, and if something goes awry, what is your next step?   Answer Question
