Mission: We strive to be the employer of choice for talented, enthusiastic team players seeking to work in the exciting world of travel and tourism by providing a progressive, creative environment in which ambitious people will develop and flourish.

Barrhead Travel – Why Work For Us?

Founded in 1975, The Barrhead Travel Group has grown from a single high street shop to a travel giant with 1000 employees across over 70 UK outlets, including a portfolio of experiential stores, Business Travel offices, a dyanamic head office and contact centres.

Since our inception, we’ve recognised that to be the best, we must have the best people working for us, and so our team members enjoy a continued programme of training and development that is unmatched in the travel business.

Take a look at just some of the reasons why you’ll love being a part of our award-winning teams:

  • Unrivalled training and personal development programmes to grow a lifelong career
  • The chance to travel the world! To enhance your destination knowledge, we send our teams to far-flung corners of the earth to experience it first-hand. It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it!
  • You’ll enjoy a wide range of employee benefits including generous discounts on holidays plus access to a range of discounts for high-street retailers
  • Increased holiday allowance with long service – we’ll give you up to an additional week of annual leave to make the most of those holiday discounts!

We’re a flexible, progressive and innovative travel company, and our strategies and planning mean that we intend to build on our already considerable achievements over the next 40 years. Why not join us?

Barrhead Travel is a proud supporter of Modern Apprenticeships. In fact, we’ve been offering young people the chance to grow a prosperous career with us since we opened our doors back in 1975.

Today, take on approximately 100 new apprentices each year across all areas of our business. From sales to administration and from marketing to IT, the variety and opportunity on offer really is limitless. Combining study with on-the-job learning, we offer an exciting alternative to classroom style training and provide the foundation for a successful career in a financially secure and growing business.

Our training programmes are carefully designed to bring out the best in young people who are passionate about a career in travel. We work closely with local schools, colleges and government agencies to collaborate on stimulating and rewarding courses for our apprentices. Every single apprentice will have their own mentor and Personal Development Plan to help achieve individual goals and ambitions.

Our apprentices are the future of our business. Bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the table is encouraged and many have progressed to become managers, running their own store or department. Even within our board of directors, you’ll find several who started their Barrhead Travel careers as apprentices and have grown with the business.

Interested in finding out more? If you’re between 16 and 19 years old and love the idea of getting your career off to a flying start in one of the most exciting industries, get in touch now – we’d love to hear from you!
