Work life balance can be difficult but not unlike any other hospitality job. You get out what you put in.

    Bar Staff Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Beds and Bars (London, England).

    Interview

Not impressed that the interviewer was 30 minutes late and didn’t apologise, he introduced me to the other supervisor there (let’s call him bob). The interview was relaxed and casual and I got a trial shift which I completed. I felt like they didn’t offer any instruction with what to do behind the bar I had to ask the other staff for help. I felt like I was thrown in the deep end and left feeling like I didn’t want the job. A week later “Bob” emailed me saying he read my resume and invited me in for an interview even though I had met him and already completed a trial shift so unimpressed with that too and didn’t reply.

Another week later I received an email from someone new saying that I got the job. By then I just really needed a job so I took it and I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. I just thought the interview process was very unorganised.
