Circle Square, a 2.4 million sq ft new city centre neighbourhood in the heart of the Manchester Oxford Road Corridor innovation district, is a joint venture between Bruntwood and Select Property Group and is due to be two thirds complete by 2020.

Bruntwood is also Strategic Property Partner to the Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) and a member of the influential business-led think-tank the Northern Powerhouse Partnership and the Midlands Engine.

Bruntwood and its people are passionate about supporting communities, arts and culture in the city regions where it invests. The company donates around 10% of annual profits to local good causes through the Oglesby Charitable Trust and is proud to support the Manchester International Festival and RHS Tatton Flower Show.

Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting

We partnered with the Royal Exchange Theatre to create the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting - the UK’s biggest national competition for playwriting. Since 2005, we’ve been searching for great new plays by great writers. And since then we’ve seen over 11,000 entries, 22 prize winners and 23 full productions.

Manchester International Festival

Manchester International Festival is the world’s first festival of new and original work. Launching in 2007 and taking place biennially, the festival is artist-led and commissions arrive from around the world. Bringing world premieres in performing arts, music, visual art and popular culture, MIF has been a huge addition to the city culturally, socially and economically and Bruntwood are proud to have been one of the first to support the internationally renowned event.

The Bruntwood Charity

The Bruntwood Charity supports four charities, one in each of the regions we operate in, and every year staff raise an average of £120,000. From volunteering through our Bruntwood Cares programme to running a marathon or abseiling down a building, they are encouraged to do what they can to make a difference, as well as making sure that they have a huge amount of fun in doing it. Through these activities, our people get to have fun together as well as meet with others from across the business that they might not otherwise meet in their day-to-day working lives.

Cares Days

Over 1,500 hours are spent volunteering by our staff through our Bruntwood Cares scheme every year. Staff are given two days each year to volunteer for community projects. Whether it’s helping school leavers with practice job interviews or renovating community health centres, there’s something for everyone. But staff also go one step further, lending their talents, making board-level commitments with organisations such as MIDAS, The Plaza Community Cinema and the Royal Manchester Hospital.

The Oglesby Charitable Trust

Established in 1992 by Founder of Bruntwood Michael Oglesby and his wife, Jean, the Oglesby Charitable Trust has supported over 300 charities across the North West. The aim of the Trust is to further improve the wellbeing of the region and its people through arts, education, environment and medical research activities, as well as tackling social inequality.

The scheme is designed to reward commitment and to provide a way to save for the future.

Life assurance policy

From the minute you start your career with Bruntwood, you are included in our company life assurance policy. So, should the unfortunate event of your death occur during your service with Bruntwood, a lump sum of four times your annual salary is paid to your beneficiaries, giving your dependants and relatives some much-needed financial security at a worrying time.

Birthday leave

Social events

Each year we raise over £130,000 for good causes in the cities where we operate. Our fund-raising events are conceived and run by our people and often involve our customers and suppliers too. They are great social occasions as well as a way of giving something back to the local community.

Volunteering

Bruntwood Cares is our volunteer programme where we our people to get involved with charitable and other organisations in the community. Everyone gets two paid days per year to carry out volunteer work, from literacy mentoring in local schools to supporting homeless people in gaining new skills.
