    Positive Outlook

I worked at Carrentals.com as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Plenty of opportunities to learn
    - Plenty of feedback
    - Good money
    - Free food, regular outdoor events etc

    Cons

    - People here have been fired while they were on a holiday. The whole office knew except for the person himself, who discovered it only on return... via SMS.
    - Sexist culture. Some managers will routinely interfere in the private affairs of female staff with sexist comments.
    - Very high turnover. People get fired/quit a lot.
    - Very long hours.

    Advice to Management

If you can't do business without treating your employees/contractors unfairly you'd do a favor to the whole world by staying home and leaving the scene to companies who extend their care beyond the bottom line to the wellbeing of those working for them.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Carrentals.com (New York, NY (US)) in January 2012.

    Interview

Did online research to figure out who the manager the position I was applying for reported to. Then more online research to determine the direct contact for that manager. Submitted application directly to management email. Used cover letter and CV as attachments. Was email back to setup an in-person meeting (I was a local applicant). One interview meeting with manager. Was hired three days later.
