I have been working at full-time (More than 3 years)

The environment at Compare is stimulating and more collaborative than any other place I’ve worked. For the most part, leadership embraces critical thinking, which is refreshing, and seems to genuinely care about their employees as people, which is, sadly, increasingly hard to find in the job market. Compare has also done a remarkable job of hiring a lot of bright, motivated people who are fun to work and hang out with.

If I had to find fault with the company, it would be that many of us feel that management has demonstrated a greater interest in the professional development of employees from sister companies and students from a particular MBA program (that half of the Leadership Team attended), rather than their own employees that have been here contributing to the company’s success for years. So, while they care about their employees as people, management hasn’t always demonstrated respect for them as professionals.

    Advice to Management

You’ve assembled a very talented and motivated team; please don’t ever take that for granted. Make sure your top performers continue to feel appreciated and are given room to grow. Be very careful about who you put (and keep) in management positions, as we continue to expand.

    People Services Coordinator Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Richmond, VA (US)

    Neutral Experience
    Difficult Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at (Richmond, VA (US)) in April 2016.

30 minute phone interview, then two hour in-person office interview the following week. It was three rounds of meetings, first with the Head of People Services, second round was with both the Staff Accountant and Desktop Support Specialist, and last round was with the Partner Relations Specialist. There was also an "Attention to Details" test, where you were given 90 seconds and a list of similar-looking phrases and were supposed to decide if there were differences in each pair. Overall, everyone was nice enough except the Partner Relations Specialist. She spent over 30 minutes picking apart my resume line by line and telling me each thing she didn't like about it. I wasn't prepared for such a critical review. If you interview with the person in this position, be ready to justify every single word of your resume. Also, she is not listed publicly on LinkedIn (everyone else I interviewed with was), so I knew nothing about her going in. Overall, I did appreciate the honest feedback about my resume and went home and reformatted some things, but it was just surprising to have a full interview with her devoted to resume critique.
