    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ComplyAdvantage.

    Interview

Process consists of a 20 minute call with HR, followed by a Codility programming test, followed by an hour meeting with the hiring manager to discuss technical skills, followed by another meeting to discuss situational skills.

Was unsuccessful at the programming test stage, you are given around 3 hours to complete three tasks. Was unable to finish the test in this time. Disappointed that they chose this method of assessment, as I feel that it doesn't really reflect your programming capabilities, focusing more on getting exactly the right answers in a such a short space of time. A better test would've been if they created a difficult problem to code and gave several days to do so. 3 hours is not enough and it just made the situation quite stressful. I also don't feel that this translates realistically to the kind of development that would be done in a work environment. My advice to anyone doing the coding test is to revise Codility or Hackerrank problems until you can complete them very fast, as the test more seems to focus on developing very specific solutions, instead of testing your capabilities as a whole. You can learn by doing lots of similar tests.
