FINDING THE EDGE

In 2008, a group of operations consultants led by Rupert Morrison decided there had to be a better way to solve business problems. One which didn't involve working till 3 in the morning in a nightmare of endless Excel Spreadsheets and frustratingly static PowerPoint slides.

To help businesses gain competitive advantage on an ongoing rather than project-by-project basis they knew bringing together operations knowledge with technology could make problem-solving easier and faster. So they merged with technology firm Concentra to create a new business model. One where industry and domain expertise could be combined with analytics and cutting-edge technology to solve business problems faster and deliver sustainable value for organisations.

    Feels like a family-run company
    Great opportunities for early career growth - if you know how to seize them for yourself
    You can set your own work-life balance
    Hires foreign workers

    Cons

    There are too many directors with competing visions for the company's future, so strategy is sometimes unclear

    There is a clear pecking order between operational teams and client-facing teams - operational teams have slower progression

    Gender balance is improving, but still questionable

    Step 2- Assessment Day - At the London Office.
    a. HR interviews - more in-depth strength based.
    b. Technical Interviews - a mixture of problem-solving questions and strength based questions.
    c. Group mini project - situational test.
    d. Numerical, abstract and verbal reasoning tests. Fairly tough so practice online!
    Step 3 - Presentation Day - Presentation on a topic of your choice to 8 members of senior management and informal discussions with them.
