    Pros

Working for Coutts comes with a great deal of personal pride based on the bank's long history of providing clients with the most premium services. The company is full of people that have worked there for more than 20 or 30 years even, from which you can learn a lot of how the bank has changed through time.

    Cons

People are quite rooted to their positions, and many are resistant to change their way of work out of habit. The bank as a whole is slow to change and optimise itself internally.

    Advice to Management

Management should invest their time and effort in optimising the bank's internal processes.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Coutts & Co.

    Interview

I applied through a recruitment consultant. I received the job description and queried this, as it said they were looking only for experienced staff, and i had very little experience. I was told they were desperate for staff and therefore they were a bit more relaxed on this issue.

In the interview, they asked me the usual competency questions, and they made it clear they were desperate for staff.

I was therefore very disappointed when i was told i didn't get the job because i lacked experience. I wasted a day of my holiday allowance and expense to get to this interview. I feel they only interviewed me to make sure they were interviewing more than one person for the role.
