  1. Junior Software Developer Interview

    Anonymous Employee in United Kingdom
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview
    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at DCSL GuideSmiths (United Kingdom)

    Interview

Applied online for a junior level position.

Got a call from an internal recruiter talking about a mid level position. I informed them that I had applied for a junior level position.

I was given 2 take home coding challenges which I completed and was moved on to the next round which involved a mix of debugging some code and some pretty esoteric C# questions. I did not perform particularly well in this round.

Got an email saying I wasn't quite up to the mid-level expectations.
Again, I had applied for a junior level position...
    Interview

Some questions around C# language specifics that you don't come across every day.

At DCSL, we give all of our employees a ‘day to do good’ each year - the opportunity to volunteer some of their time to support a charitable cause of their choice. Here’s Our Internal Recruiter Ashleigh Hall and Credit Controller Leah Symes (and some very friendly goats! 🐐 ) spending the day helping out at The Retreat Animal Rescue Sanctuary in Kent. The Retreat Animal Rescue Sanctuary is a charity dedicated to supporting all animals - farmed, domestic and wild, as well as educating the public on how to care for them. For more information on the work that they do, visit: https://www.retreatanimalrescue.org.uk/
