Black Lives Matter then, now and always. Across the US, we are all witnessing repeated injustices against the Black community – from police brutality at scale to the collective grief of Black lives lost. We have no alternative but to demand change, and we stand in solidarity with your pain, frustration, and desire for resolve. Racism, injustice and inequality that hold members of our community back, hold us all back. Our differences strengthen us, and together, we must champion individuality in all of its diverse forms. We are so incredibly proud of our community’s immediate responses to mobilize – whether that’s by demanding change through your own platforms or donating proceeds from your shop to ally organizations. We believe in our collective action and have made the below commitment to start. We know these are only the first steps of many we need to take. And we’ll continue to update you on what we’re doing to better serve and empower you, the Depop community.

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Depop (London, England, England) in Mar 2021

I had a task, which I received 1 hour before the interview which I then had to analyse and present during the interview, as well as a case study which they asked me a lot of questions about, all wrapped into an hour long interview. The task itself was relatively easy, done in excel, however the expectation is that you do it really quickly just before your interview which really adds to the challenge significantly. The rest of the interview, I can describe it best, as a lot of grilling on various topics which they are interested in. Overall, it felt like the kind of role where they require you to have the technical experience and business acumen of an entire team, but you are just one person. Interviewers were very non-personable, which was such a dramatic change from first stage interview, where it was so easy to build a connection with the itnerviewer. I don't know which interview is a true representation of the company culture but it certainly speaks against one of their core values as a company, which is "building a community".
