    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I worked at Devexperts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Friendly and professional colleagues (engineers mostly)
    - In some cases pretty good salary

    Cons

    - Poor attitude from top management (within R&D department) and toxic environment
    - Incompetent and rude HR
    - Poor facilities and office
    - Overworking and undervaluing employees is likely
    - Vacations are not welcome
    - No relocation opportunities
    - Firing people without any notification and poor compensation, which breaks the law

    Advice to Management

CTO, PMO and Operations are good. R&D top management and HR partners are a mess. Many words little matter. Broken promises. Toxic atmosphere. Definitely not the happiest year in my career.

    Software Engineer Interview

Anonymous Employee in Saint Petersburg (Russia)

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Devexperts (Saint Petersburg (Russia)) in November 2011.

    Interview

Usual interview process includes two parts: a couple of tests (you are doing them alone during limited time interval, on site) and interview with 2 of engineers + maybe manager. After getting an offer you may get a few options of which team are going to join. Since company's core competence is Java requirements for different teams are very close to each other (unless are iOS or Web developer).
The first part, the paper test, again includes two part - one for common IT-knowledge (like translating numbers from one system of counting to other) and one specific for position you are applying for (usually Java).
The interview part lasts for 2-3 hours with same people and may include various questions depending on the target position. If you are applying to more specific position (like Android\iOS developer) there will be at least one engineer working on such position and he will ask some practical questions.

    Interview Questions

    • - Core Java (concurrency + collections)
       - System design
       - A bit of databases
       - Simple coding task
       - Questions about network\hardware (but usually quite high-level)
       - Question specific to job profile (like JS type system if you are web-developer)   Answer Question
