I have been working at Dillon Companies part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good place to work with fair pay

    Cons

I often get calls on my approved days off

Over 5 years with raises 1 time a year (or less), When I'm outside pushing shopping carts FES does not rotate like they are suppose to (years ago, I didn't mind cause it was quieter but I'm out there for hours and people keep telling me 'you don't have to stay out' so when I go back inside, I'm usually sent back outside on the other side to get more carts, so I figure I might as well stay outside and switching sides walking back and forth and on my days off they don't rotate most of the time cause when I have went in on my days off (to shop), I have often had to tell FES carts are low or lobby is empty). I also check so when I'm checking (I have a radio (walkie w/ear peice) and I sometimes hear 'FES, North is low or South is low') so I'm either pulled off check stand to get carts (even if there are others that can go outside) or they send someone out and on days I leave early (before closing), 1 of the FESs will always ask me 'can you check carts before you leave?' even there are others there that can get carts (FES claims she asks others before they leave but they all have told me they don't get asked

    Advice to Management

make sure FESs rotate workers to push shopping carts, they shouldn't have to ask to clerks that leave early to check carts if there are others that can get carts

ask workers if they would like to try/cross-train in other departments

It was easy as the questions were simple. Talk about yourself. It’s just cashier work. Must pass drug test. On boarding was quick. Orientation is boring, but having a job during covid is okay here for now.
