Best Places to Work: 2019 (#33)
I have been working at Dunelm part-time (More than a year)
Lots of overtime and good management and colleagues
Short staffed at times - makes things very busy
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dunelm (Nottingham, England) in October 2013.
Went through an agency so there were several stages there but once at Dunelm I was interviewed by the store manager looking at my CV and how I work, then 2 weeks later I had an interview with the area manager who did a very similar exercise but asked very detailed and probing questions.
Done through an agency so was handled for me
Time to Talk Day brings the nation together to get talking and break the silence around our mental health. At Dunelm we have been taking steps to support our colleagues with their mental health and physical wellbeing. We have officially launched our Wellbeing Buddies in our Leicester and London offices, the buddies have been through Mental Health First Aider training allowing them to be able to listen, support and sign post for our colleagues.
Every couple of years we change our charity partner. We have just finished our two-year partnership with Home-Start, and together we managed to raise over £850,000. When we were looking at who we wanted to work with for our next charity partner, we wanted something that was easy for our colleagues and customers to understand and get behind, something that touched everyone and someone who made a difference in the home.
We are therefore, very excited to be officially launching our new charity partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. On Friday our Support sites went even more green to raise awareness. Our stores will begin theirs in Feb and every 5p from your Pausa cuppa will be donated to MacMillan Cancer Support.
