  1. Senior Product Manager Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral I interviewed at Etsy (United States)

    Interview

I was referred to Etsy from a former colleague. I was referred specifically for a role on their team and I was excited by the prospect but overall the recruiter was one of the worst I have ever talked to.

On our initial phone screen, he seemed distracted and didn't ask any questions beyond the basic information that was in my resume/applciation. When I asked him questions he couldn't answer even the most basic of questions, even one as simple as can you tell me a single tool the team you're recutting for is using/looking for. He then said they would be in touch within the week to schedule the first round of interviews but I didn't hear back for 3 weeks and when I did it was a generic form letter saying they had reviewed me application and we ould be in touch.

I ultimately accepted another role and was very disappointed, I expected better from Etsy. Espeically for an employee referral.
    Interview

The initial phone screen was very basic and the recruiter didn't actually ask any questions other than basic info that was in my application.

We had a blast partnering with award-winning pop rock band HAIM to outfit their new California music studio. Along with Reverb, we developed an inspiring place to create and collaborate, filled with stunning equipment, furniture, and handmade goods courtesy of independent sellers. Check out HAIM's new space and see which pieces you can incorporate into your own studio here.

When discussing diversity, is neurodiversity yet a component of your conversations? Our Head of Product Design, Christina Goldschmidt, recently joined Relay FM’s Presentable Podcast to share from personal experience the valuable roles that neuroatypical people can play in a team’s continued evolution and success. Christina herself is dyslexic neuroatypical with complex post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorder. She’s simultaneously the impactful and diligent manager of Etsy’s Product Design team. Listen in to hear Christina and Jeffrey Veen discuss how hiring and working alongside people with dyslexia or mental health issues can enhance the overall effectiveness of your team, be it within Design or any other department.
