We recently hosted our first Internet of Things Conference at the Watershed, Bristol in partnership with techUK and High Tech Bristol & Bath CIC. With around 150 people in attendance and some great speakers from Dyson, the Department for Culture, Media & Sport and General Dynamics, as well as our own senior leaders, the event was a huge success!
We were at the Security Cleared/Cyber Expo in Westminster last week, representing Amazon Web Services and the re:Start Programme as part of our partnership to train service leavers and place them within the IT industry. #experislife

At Experis, we know that your potential can’t be captured in a resume, job title or job description. With an understanding of your unique talents, experience and interests, our specialized recruiters and job matching process connect you to the right contract positions to accelerate your professional success.
Whether you’re looking for a long- or short-term contract assignment, permanent placement, contract to permanent position or 1099 role, you can find it with Experis.
Contract work through Experis keeps you on the move – through challenging short-term or long-term consulting projects and up the career ladder. Our expansive client network is your connection to some of the nation’s most admired companies and prime assignments in your field. Apply your skills and expertise … and build your portfolio.
Experis’ contact to permanent career option removes barriers and gets you where you want your career to go. Maybe there’s a specific company you’ve had your eye on. Working with Experis is a great way to propel your name to the top of the hiring list. We leverage extensive client connections to get your foot in the door at a company where a permanent position is a likely fit. Plus, once on assignment, you get first-hand knowledge about working there. That’s the motivation to making choices you can live – and work – with.
Experis gets to know you. Your skills. Your experience. Your goals. Then, we accelerate your plan to find a permanent position that lets you soar. As an independent contractor, you’re in control. But, you know the risks. It’s hard to find your next job while you’re currently working on one. We connect you with quality contract work that supplements your 1099 work. Your entrepreneurial spirit remains intact, but you also enjoy the opportunity to earn benefits such as healthcare, vacation and training …benefits that are much harder to come by as an independent contractor. You also eliminate the burden of self-employment taxes.
Where do you want your career to go? We can help you get there. When you work for Experis, you gain access to thousands of training courses and certification prep options through our Training and Development Center. Courses ranging from project management to IT skills, accounting to leadership and more are available as well as prep courses to propel you toward certifications with organizations like Six Sigma, Microsoft, Project Management Institute and others. Free to Experis consultants and employees.
What goes up…can keep going up! Who says it needs to come down? After all, as an engineer you’ve likely designed it specifically to not do so. Same thing with your career. You’ve built a solid career foundation to help you get ahead and stay ahead in the expanding world of engineering. Experis Engineering recruiters respect that. We can help you identify new opportunities and get you connected with local niche companies, global industry leaders, and everything in-between.
Speak IT? Good news! So do we. Experis IT recruiters speak your language and can assist you in getting to where you want to be in your career. We provide top talent to a wide range of companies from small, local establishments on up to technology industry global leaders, and we’d love to help you find a new opportunity that’s just the right fit for you and your expertise. Regardless of if you’re just starting out in your career or if you’re a seasoned IT professional, if you’re looking to capitalize upon your IT knowledge and skill set, Experis IT is the right place for you.
We get it. Eyes glaze over when you start describing your work in finance to your friends and family. Fortunately, that’s not the case when speaking with an Experis Finance recruiter. We understand that your career is much more than a data sheet or a bunch of numbers, and we want to connect you with that next great career opportunity that positions you for success. Our wide network and breadth of experience in finance allows us to do exactly that.
Perhaps your career doesn’t fit into IT, Finance, or Engineering. Not a problem. Whether it’s the scientific or healthcare fields, legal, human resources, marketing, management, or even manufacturing, Experis has your area of expertise covered. You didn’t work hard to get your career to where it is now only to take a step backwards in working with a recruitment firm that doesn’t understand your career goals or industry. Instead, take a step forward by working with Experis recruiters. We seek to utilize and showcase your expertise to industry leading companies that span a variety of niches.
Along with our parent company, ManpowerGroup, the nature of what we do – connecting people to jobs, training and tools that enable them to support themselves, build a sense of pride and contribute to the community – puts social responsibility at our core. Our commitment to producing a positive impact on individuals and societies is also an extension of our corporate values:
Experis’ social responsibility principles and practices advance our focus on the world of work: We serve as a bridge to employment for all – linking the disadvantaged and disenfranchised to opportunities that help them survive and thrive. But it goes even further. We also strive to operate at the highest level of integrity and to be an effective and imaginative agent of change – in the smallest communities and around the world.
Long before corporate diversity directors, diversity departments, diversity goals, Minority and Women Business Enterprises and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Experis was finding the best in everyone and putting it to work. Since our start, our business has been guided by the belief that there's a role for every individual in the world of work.
Beginning in 1948, our parent company ManpowerGroup was a pioneer in creating opportunities for women, when it was not yet socially accepted for women to work outside of the home and develop careers. We also played an important role in providing jobs for people of color in the 1960s, the most pivotal era for racial diversity in the United States workforce.
The nature of our business has given us a privileged position to promote diversity. We take great pride in furthering the potential of individuals of diverse cultures, talents and experience. We always consider what people can do, versus what they can't do. And we make every effort to provide opportunities for anyone who is seeking the rewards and dignity of work.
ManpowerGroup is committed to providing equal employment opportunities in a professional, high quality work environment. It is the policy of ManpowerGroup and all of its subsidiaries to recruit, train, promote, transfer, pay and take all employment actions without regard to an employee's race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, religion, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other basis protected by applicable law.
The impossible has happened. A lawyer is doing something for free. Check out Manpower's Employment Blawg: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Employment Law (But Didn't Want to Pay a Lawyer to Ask). Chief Legal Officer for Manpower North America, Mark Toth, selflessly donated billable hours to create his Employment Blawg just to help professionals like you stay out of trouble and gainfully employed.
In his uniquely entertaining style, Mark delivers up-to-the minute information on employment law, plenty of practical tools and lots of laughs at the expense of his profession. (And yours. And Elvis.) Arm yourself with insights to prevent mistakes without being bombarded by legalese, legal fees and without falling asleep.

Since 1953, The Manpower Foundation has been dedicated to supporting job training and education initiatives for our nation's underemployed and youth. Through monetary contributions, volunteerism and other donations, the Foundation supports programs and organizations that focus on two key areas: creating paths to employment and promoting youth education and development.
By offering training in growing fields for those often overlooked in the workforce, the Foundation helps individuals experience the financial and personal rewards of sustainable work, while strengthening communities and developing a stronger, more diverse work-ready population for employers. And by providing resources for youth education, the Foundation prepares tomorrow's workforce to conquer the challenges of the changing world of work.
Along with these initiatives, the Manpower Foundation also supports healthcare and social services through an annual donation to the United Way, and the arts through an annual donation to the United Performing Arts Fund.

As a service organization, our environmental impact might be small compared to that of manufacturing industries. But that doesn't mean we overlook the many ways we can go green. Whenever possible, we incorporate eco-friendly initiatives into our business practices.
We continue to explore opportunities to minimize our impact on the environment by encouraging colleagues to embrace technology, such as e-mail, teleconferencing, net meetings, webinars and video conferencing to reduce unnecessary travel. In our offices nationwide, we implement programs that reduce the use of energy and resources such as paper, and promote recycling.
In 2007, Experis and our parent company, ManpowerGroup, moved into our newly constructed world headquarters, a state-of-the-art green building in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This energy-efficient building represents a triumph of environmental vision and execution, and was recently recognized with Gold Status under the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification system – the first new building in Milwaukee to earn that distinction. The LEED Green Building Rating System, administered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), serves as the benchmark in green building design, construction, operation and maintenance.
Our world headquarters now establishes a benchmark for all future Experis and Manpower office developments around the world - furthering our commitment to environmental stewardship.
I have been working at Experis full-time (Less than a year)
Each member of staff is supportive and approachable. Evidence of their support includes their proactive ways of meeting and greeting you: by email, online meeting with board members, in person and sat beside you. As a result, you soon feel as though you are a well-respected family member.
The effect of the above is you soon feel very comfortable to approach colleagues with any concerns or issues you believe that you may have. The colleagues show you the process to use just in case they are not there next time you have any issues or concerns and because they do not want anyone to feel unsupported.
This is positive for the organisation because it results in you aiming to perform to the best of your ability, everyday.
Much of the work I do is on computer, which is necessary because my role supports contractors who work throughout the UK. Because those people depend upon me responding to their simple questions and queries, I believe one must be computer literate enough to reply to emails yet be confident enough to ask questions regarding which database to retrieve the simple information.
Advice to Management
Please continue to place staff into the types of teams that you do because it creates an effective skill-base for retrieval of information and support.
I applied online. I interviewed at Experis (London, England).
I had an initial phone conversation with an internal recruiter and then had a phone interview with a Senior Manager, and 2 face to face interviews with the opportunity to meet team members. The process was incredibly quick.
