Flybe – Why Work For Us?

We are Flybe – the UK’s largest regional airline.

We employ over 2400 people in the air and on the ground, across the UK and further into Europe. Our people are the key to our success. We know that in order to succeed, we must place the customer at the heart of everything we do, and we know that to do that we must value and respect our people and give them the best employee experience. We listen to our employees and value their opinions. Hosting regular employee forums means that we can hear our employee voice and make changes to our business, ultimately delivering a better service to our customer.

To ensure our employees are operating to the best of their abilities, we built our state of the art Training Academy, which features simulator facilities for pilot and cabin crew training; an engineering apprentice workshop with EASA Part 147 Approval; 26 classrooms and a 150-seat conference facility. Ensuring our people are well trained is really important to us and remains one of our key priorities.

Our culture is inclusive and friendly and our people are passionate – we all work hard and play hard. We value our teams and work together to achieve our goals. Being open and honest with each other allows us to make improvements on a day to day basis.

We are committed to our environmental and social responsibilities, building a fleet which has a reduced impact on the environment.  But our responsibilities don’t stop with the environment. We are strong supporters of Cancer Research UK and our employees take part in a wealth of activities to raise funds for this great cause.

Working for Flybe is exciting -  the fast paced environment means every day is different and working for us you will gain a wealth of experience throughout your career.

In addition to being a great place to work, at Flybe, we offer a whole host of extra benefits including discounted staff travel for yourself, friends and family, the ability to purchase extra days off, childcare vouchers and various retailer discounts.

If this sounds like the place for you, go on and take a look at our opportunities!

Flybe is a great company to work for, should you like working in a fast paced environment where your ideas are truly listened to. It's a really interesting industry to work in and an excellent talking point!

You will be expected to deliver to often very challenging deadlines, though I guess this is true with all companies wishing to succeed.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Flybe (Exeter, England) in November 2017.

Applied online via Flybe Job Vacancies web page then was sent an email 8 days prior to interview to prepare a 15 minute presentation and session plan.
Interview was conducted on time and good introduction by both members of the interview panel on the process and expectations.
Presentation was delivered first followed by a selection of pre written questions that was professionally asked and standardised as part of the recruitment process.
Was given plenty of time and chance to ask questions throughout interview process which was conducted in a relaxed, suitable and quite informal environment.

    Interview Questions

    • Interview questions were pre written and prepared by interview panel which I felt was professionally done and standardised to ensure all those interviewed are and were treated fairly and with the same process.
A selection of Flybe Vision & Mission statements with company ethics were questioned with an expectation of how I could relate to this in past experiences. Scenarios of situations through work experience and how I dealt with it were also asked to show and confirm experience, competency and also how I dealt with the scenario. Notes were taken throughout on answers given.   1 Answer
