Yesterday we had a brilliant cocktail and mocktail masterclass with JJ Goodman, the founder and owner of the London Cocktail Club. Emma was superb as event MC. JJ took us through the art of making affordable and delicious cocktails from home. JJ showed us how to create three cocktails: a Tom Collins, a Bramley Apple Smash and Colada Fizz. He answered a range of weird and wonderful questions from staff including whether robot cocktail makers will be as good as real mixologists, how to best preserve mint garnishes and the sweetest ingredients he’s put in his cocktails (Angel Delight is one of his favourites)! Those who attended will get a copy of JJ’s book Kitchen Cocktails - an indispensable guide for cocktail fans everywhere

Today marked the start of our celebratory EPIC Festive Week, and we kicked it off with a very special festive bake-off! The bake-stakes were high, and competitive spirit was in abundant supply. The bakers sent pictures of their creations ahead of the competition, and then each had 45 seconds to present their bake on a zoom call with MC Anne and judge Nicky. After much deliberation, Emily was announced as the star baker for her gingerbread chocolate drip cake. Helen was runner-up with her hazlenut meringue and chocolate brownie cake. Honourable mentions went to Imogen for a gingerbread house (though sadly she couldn’t attend the judging) and to Maha for representing Four MENA and to Amelia for representing Four Cymru. See below for a close-up of Emily’s winning cake, and for a picture of the judging event in action:

    Interview

Disorganised, inauthentic, and the concept of 'togetherness' is a facade.
    - They were late.
    - They didn't book the room for 1 hour. The last half was completed in the reception area.
    - They didn't ask about my expereince or anything related to my work.
    - Interview was a personality test, not merit based.
    - Interviewer inferred I was too old for the position and that I might get bored.
    - I noticed a long blond hair in my glass of water right at the end of the interview. Fantastic.

Complete waste of time and the company is being ruined by leaders who don't embody the company values.
