Positive Outlook

Pros

The work / life balance at GAN is second to none and it has been an absolute privilege working there for the past 6 months.

Cons

None that I know of so far. A closer relation with the technical development team would be appreciated. Would expect the next 6 months to be a little more challenging.

  1. Lead UI/User Experience Designer Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at GAN (London, England) in Oct 2021

    Interview

Applied online. The whole process took five weeks. I had three interviews with different people. One phone call, two video calls. The process was good until the final part which didn't make sense to me.

Part 1: HR guy. Passed, all good.
Part 2: Director, Product. Passed, all good.
Part 3: Senior Designer (I was interviewed by someone below my rank?)

According to the HR guy, I made it to the final along with another candidate who had "better leadership skills" according to the Senior Designer (I wonder how she measured that). So, oddly enough, looks like the final decision was made by the Senior Designer, something that I find as rare as inefficient.

I wonder if they have thought well of this. For example, if I am a bit demanding in terms of quality, would my subordinate choose quality (even if it means correcting the work as many times as necessary) or would she choose someone who makes it easy for her?

Maybe that weird process could help to explain the poor quality reflected in GAN's work?
