Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Grey Matter Interviews

Getting an Interview

  1. Sales Support Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Ashburton, England
    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Grey Matter (Ashburton, England)

Organised by an agency, got interview fairly quickly. Nice area to work in but tricky if you don't have a car. Everyone seemed very friendly and positive but could tell it could get pretty stressful when pushing for targets at the end of the month. Staff where a range of ages. More suitable for someone who is into there computers and target driven. I got through to the second stage of the interview and got to taste of what the role would be on a day to day basis. The position seemed to me the bottom of the pack and asked to do all the jobs people where to 'busy' to do. Unfortunately the job wasn't for me and couldn't see myself working there. Apparently it was a close call between me and someone else so it worked out for the best that they chose her.

An example when I disagreed with my manager?
