I have been working at Gwangju Institute of Science & Technology full-time (Less than a year)
Full curriculum run in English,
3rd in the world considering Citation per faculty.
Collaboration with Caltech.
Graduate assistantship is available for all student.
No 1 in Korea considering technology transfer.
It is far from the city.
The size of the university is comparatively small( only 2000 students)
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Gwangju Institute of Science & Technology.
Hired after finished Master degree in the same laboratory to finish project for publication. Basically everything depends on professor, if you get initial contact and satisfy his/hers requirements, it won't be difficult to enter the institute. Interview might be held by Skype(or other similar software), if you don't reside in Korea.
Publications in good journals would be a major advantage.
