I have been working at H&M full-time (More than 5 years)
Opportunities are endless...if you have an old school work ethic like myself then with this company the sky is the limit!A Global company with a set of values like no other retailer.Having worked for Arcadia previously, H&M were a breath of fresh air. The company embraces the need to evolve during challenging trading times but most importantly encourages employees at all levels to give feedback to make this happen!!!No hierarchy...everybody's opinion counts. Biggest Pro for me is that the company strives for diversity in all roles and champions the strength this brings!Too many competitors expect employees to look, speak and act in the same way...H&M is the opposite, understanding that different strengths and weaknesses bring the best ideas and teamwork!!!
Expectations are high so not for the faint hearted. You get back what you put in, so if you expect opportunities without doing the groundwork- you may be disappointed!
The company continues to expand due to its demanding nature...but this allows it to grow which offers job security in a challenging UK market.
Advice to Management
Stick to the values...Keep it simple, speak your mind but always keep your mind open while doing so.
I applied online. I interviewed at H&M.
Applied online and got a call a few hours later asking to chat over the phone. Went through a 10-15 minute phone screening where they asked me about my availability and my resume then got invited to an in-person interview the next day. At the in-person interview I met 2 managers and they asked me pretty basic retail questions. The managers were really chill and made me feel super comfortable. After they interviewed me, they left the room to deliberate for a few minutes and came back to offer me the job and have me fill out paperwork.
