Another year, another HL Touch Rugby Tournament. With almost 10% of the entire workforce in attendance, it made for a gripping evening. The 'Marketing Bears' lost their defending title to ‘College Red in the Face’.
We were also delighted to welcome the Bristol Bears Touch Rugby team to this year's event - great to have their support and even better that one team beat them!
All in all, a great success and a fantastic turn out from staff.

We do everything relating to our business ourselves; marketing, advertising, processing, the maintenance and design of our website, and we develop and own all of our computer systems. We do this because we want that expertise within our business. We don't use expensive consultants to do things we can do ourselves. If we don't know how to do it ourselves we learn. We pay for external help only when it is too risky, expensive or foolish to do something ourselves.

Creating and editing engaging customer focused content for use on our website is a daily challenge. Such an apprentice will need to focus on what content is working, what’s not and what’s not earning enough. It will be up to them to change, amend and tweak content so every word and image is having the greatest impact. It’s about creating the right content at the right time to engage our users. This structured programme will provide a great blend of experience, training and qualifications for an exciting career in one of the fastest growing areas of marketing today.

Want a career in IT? A problem solver?
This apprenticeship might just be for you. The Service Desk team are responsible for dealing with IT problems and queries within Hargreaves Lansdown. You will be on the front line for our IT team and perform diagnostics to resolve faults. In addition there will be a number of IT projects for you to get involved with. In addition you will complete your apprenticeship qualifications in IT. This combination of on-the-job experience and qualifications provide a fantastic foundation to a career in IT.

- Pay and bonus is quite low for the responsibility/dedication required.
- Overtime is an essential daily routine
- Understaffed (but allows for more extensive training/progression)
Advice to Management
- Increase salary or introduce better overtime pay
- Introduce a better training plan for new joiners for departments
- Better benefits would be a bonus (pension contributions are far too low for a financial services company, private medical should be standard to include mental health service provision for all staff)
